Home-Based Learning (HBL) Teacher Readiness Scale: Instrument Development and Demographic Analysis

The unprecedented disruption in education due to the COVID-19 pandemic has forced teachers worldwide adapt online teaching and immediate implementation of home-based learning (HBL). However, little is known regarding teacher readiness for HBL. Thus, there a pressing need develop an instrument measure teachers’ teaching, which can provide feedback guide policymakers school leaders planning strategic interventions support implementing This study aimed refine validate HBL Teacher Readiness Scale ascertain view secondary on aspects their implement A total 931 from population 3826 were selected using random sampling, state Selangor, Malaysia. validity reliability tested exploratory factor analysis analysis. As result analysis, scale remained at 26 items across four factors, namely efficacy technology, attitude, perceived behaviour control, subjective norms. Cronbach Alpha coefficient entire was 0.94. Demographic revealed that, overall, in-service level high all dimensions, although highest attitude lowest Based this initial sample, shown be suitable change context HBL, further testing should conducted more diverse groups.
